While living in Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra's
career path in the medical field allowed her to acquire extensive experience as a former medical assistant in the field of Otolaryngology, and Podiatry. After 15 years, she relocated to sunny Florida to pursue a career in Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Her ambition and drive led her to make a career change into the world of real estate. She became a licensed Realtor in order to help assist families in reaching their goals of homeownership.

What is Pre-foreclosure?
Foreclosure is a legal process that lenders use to recover the balance of a mortgage loan from a borrower who has stopped making payments. If you fall two to three months behind on your mortgage, your lender is typically going to notify you that there is a default notice on the property. This is how pre-foreclosure begins. A default notice lets homeowners know their lender will start the foreclosure process if the debt is not paid promptly. When the notice of default is received, please don't wait to take action. As soon as you get a notice of default, you need to call your lender. Depending on your circumstances your lender will decide what may be the best course of action such as a forbearance, or a loan modification. A loan modification may help to save your property when you’re struggling to make those monthly mortgage payments, but keep this in mind, you must be able to prove you can afford to keep your home. Pre-foreclosure will hit your credit hard. If you’ve reached pre-foreclosure the bank has already recorded your lateness, and then it's reported to the credit bureau. Future creditors will be able to see that you fell behind on payments, and it will make it harder for you to get future loans.
